The National Saudi Building Code Committee, in collaboration with the American Concrete Institute (ACI), the Saudi Council of Engineers, and the Petroleum Demand Sustainability Program, has announced the start of registration for its training programs, including the "Fundamentals of Structural Design according to the Saudi Code for Concrete Structures" course (SBC 304) and the ACI 318-19 edition, to qualify engineers and structural designers to meet the Saudi Building Code.
The Secretary General of the National Committee for Saudi Building Code Engineer Saad bin Saleh bin Sha'il explained that the course aims to raise the level of knowledge and professional skill of designers, provide the necessary basics for designing concrete structures, enable engineers to design foundations according to the seismic requirements of the Saudi Building Code, and familiarize trainees with the main requirements of structural design.

He added that the course "Fundamentals of Design according to the Saudi Code for Concrete Structures" will be held on September 29-30, 2024, at the headquarters of the Saudi Council of Engineers in Riyadh, and targets those who hold degrees in civil engineering and structural design, where participants will receive training on structural design, including load analysis, element design, seismic techniques, a review of material properties and sustainability standards to ensure safety and quality, and an international certificate accredited by the National Committee for Saudi Building Code and the American Concrete Institute for those who pass the test scheduled at the end of the course.
