His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Engineer Osama bin Abdulaziz Al-Zamil, confirmed that the ministry was able to identify (185 challenges) during the past year, 2022, 169 of which were resolved. He noted that the most significant of these challenges lie in licensing, the renewal of spatial licenses, the relocation of factories to industrial cities, and other challenges involving government agencies whose work intersects with that of the Ministry.
Al-Zamil explained—during his participation in the Al-Ahsa Investment Forum 2023—that the industry and mineral resources system is integrated to serve investors and streamline procedures, noting that the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has taken several steps to achieve this by streamlining the industrial investor’s journey and automating and standardizing services through unified, comprehensive forms covering all system requirements via the “Sana’i” platform.
The Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources explained that, through the National Industrial Strategy, the Kingdom aims to increase industrial resilience to ensure continuous access to essential goods for the well-being of citizens, and the continuity of economic activity, in addition to leading regional industrial integration of value chains, capitalizing on the strengths of the Saudi economy, achieving global leadership in a range of selected commodities, and investing in promising new technologies.
