Year after year, the Kingdom sets an inspiring example of turning visions into reality, and the report Quality of Life Program for 2024—one of the programs aimed at realizing the Kingdom’s Vision 2030— on qualitative achievements in six key sectors that have contributed to improving lifestyles, enhancing the urban landscape, expanding cultural, recreational, and sports options, and empowering communities.
The annual report, titled “A High Quality of Life for Every Person,” providing a comprehensive analytical overview of a range of tangible transformations at the economic, social, and cultural levels, and showcasing the progress made in the program’s initiatives and its 42 performance indicators, with 7 indicators achieving full completion (100%), 23 indicators exceeding their planned targets, and the remaining indicators presenting promising opportunities for future improvement and development.
Commenting on the report’s findings, the CEO of the Quality of Life Program, Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Bakr, that people are the program’s focus and ultimate goal, noting that the report reflects the program’s commitment to making a tangible impact on people’s lives through projects and initiatives that have moved beyond the establishment phase toward empowerment and sustainability.
He emphasized that Saudi Vision 2030 continues to build on what has been achieved in a spirit of integration and moves confidently toward 2030, making the Kingdom’s cities more attractive places to live, more ready for investment opportunities, and more welcoming of talent, hobbies, and ambitions.
He explained that Quality of Life Program works in partnership with implementing agencies to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, including urban development, stimulating investment, and expanding cultural, recreational, and sports options.
According to the report, the culture sector organized (3,327) events and employed more than (234,000) people in cultural industries, while the Kingdom’s tourism sector has transformed into a global destination attracting more than 115.9 million tourists, with a contribution to GDP of 4.41 trillion riyals. Additionally, the urban design sector saw remarkable achievements, with 149 new parks created in residential neighborhoods, and resident satisfaction with municipal services rose to (81%), while the entertainment sector continued its growth with the opening of (739) new venues and the hosting of (40) unique global events.
In the sports sector, the rate of physical activity among adults rose to (58.5%), and (1,100) athletic talents were discovered, As for the hobbies sector, 1,832 hobby clubs were established, cementing the role of hobbies as a fundamental pillar of quality of life. All of this was crowned by the achievements of the security sector, including a 99.581% level of trust in security services, reflecting the public’s confidence in the efficiency of performance and speed of response. This high level is also linked to the expanded use of modern technologies and the development of infrastructure across various regions.
Economically, the program contributed to raising the contribution of the covered sectors to (74.5) billion riyals in GDP, achieving a completion rate of (102%) of the target, Non-oil revenues reached 17.8 billion riyals, nearly double the target, while non-government investment reached 21.6 billion riyals, fully meeting the target. In terms of job creation, the program provided 368,900 new jobs, with an achievement rate of nearly 93%.
The report reflects the program’s readiness for the next phase of Saudi Vision 2030 by focusing on achieving greater integration with implementing agencies, expanding the beneficiary base, and stimulating the private sector.
